Would My Parents Accept Me As a Muslim? ~ Muslim Convert

– I was doing prostate and he came in, and he said, screaming at
me, “what are you doing? “Stop kissing the floor!” It’s not easy when your
parents are screaming at you. – [Interviewer] Oh, where’s the mic? Okay. – Hi, my name’s Laila, originally Laticia, I’m from Mexico, my mom
and dad are from Mexico. I was raised in California,
small town, Santa Barbara. I always been there, my whole life. My family are Catholic, like generations, generations of Catholic. But at the age of 13, I
left the Catholic church. I just, I didn’t understand it. I would go to the nuns and I would say “I don’t want to confess to the priest,” and they said, “Don’t be insolent.” I would go to the priest, and I said, “Why can’t nuns get married? “Why can’t you get married? It’s natural.” And they said, “You’re being insolent.” So I just had it, I just had it. And I just, my mom would drop me off in the front of the church,
and I would go to the back. And I started going to
different denominations. I was a Pentecostal, I was
a born again Christian, I was a Jehovah Witness, I
was a Christian Scientist. Literally I was just going, looking. At 13 I was looking for something that was missing in my life. At the age of 17 I went to the
University of San Francisco, and I met an American lady with the scarf. And I said, “Are you okay?” She said, “Yeah.” I said, “Do you have cancer?” She said, “No! Why would you say that?” And I said, “Well, your scarf, you know, “you’re hiding your bald head.” She said, “No, I’m a Muslim.” And when she said Muslim, I went… And she said, “Why do you say that?” And I said, “I know about Islam.” She said, “What do you know?” And I said, “I see them hitting themselves “and the blood going.” And she said, “No, that’s not Islam.” And she gave me books,
she gave me cassettes. And I was shocked. I never realized how
beautiful the religion was. So one time I was at the university and I was running late for class. And I was on my bicycle,
and this was later, like around seven, 7:30, and it was dark. And I was just running in my bicycle and I was thinking about Islam, and I was thinking all the other religions and I had that how, am
I doing the right thing? Am I, because I was ready to convert. So I was going really fast on my bicycle, and all of a sudden this
voice, this loud voice. But I don’t remember what it was, I just, I heard this loud voice, and I stopped. And I looked around, and there was no one. It was completely deserted. The cones had fallen in this huge pit. And I had stopped at that second. And I knew this was God telling me “If you don’t come to Islam, “something else is
going to be in your life “that’s not gonna be a good thing.” I was just like… And I, yeah, I just like
stopped, I just stopped. And it was, at that moment I knew. So I went back to my
American friend, Meriam, and I said “I want to be a Muslim.” And then she said, “Read,
read more about it.” So I read Sura to Meriam, and that was it. I just knew. If women had such a high degree in Islam, I wanted to be part of that. I could see that Islam has
made me a better person, gave me more patience. I’m more sympathetic. I have more empathy for people. If someone asks me to borrow money, I said, I’m giving the money. I’m going to lend, but
I give it as a gift. I don’t expect it back, although I’m not telling the person that because it’s their responsibility. I never would have thought
of doing this 30 years ago. I want my money, where’s my money! (laughs)
It’s gone. All that’s gone. Materialistic aren’t
that important anymore. I didn’t have any concerns
when I became a Muslim because I did my research. I had gone to so many other religions, and I saw all the holes,
and it just wasn’t complete. So when I came to Islam,
I did my research. I did my reading and asking questions, and anyone who would
answer me was very helpful. The only concern I had was
my parents accepting me. That was hard, I mean,
those are your parents. Those are the ones who raised you, and they felt like they
did something wrong for me to go in a different path. But once they started seeing
that I’m a better person, they have grasped it, they loved it. They wanted to know about it. That was the most exciting. My mother asked me for
the Qur’an in Spanish. My mom wanted to pray when I, she wanted to sit there and watch me pray. And she’s told me it’s so
peaceful, it’s so beautiful. And when I put the call for prayer she said she had goosebumps. Imagine having a chance from day one to start with
no sins on your conscience. And you come with a clean soul. Because Allah guarantees
that everything is forgiven. This is your chance to start and have a purpose in life.

    1. (Definition of the Qur'an, Part-1)

The Qur'an is the Arabic Speech of Allah which he revealed to Prophet Muhammad AlaihiSalaam (47:2) through Angel Jibreel AlaihiSalaam in its precise meaning and exact wording. It is the literal, uncreated Word of Allah. The word 'Qur'an' is frequently mentioned in the Glorious Book itself (See for instance 2:185, 10:37, 10:61 and 17:106).

The Qur'an clearly states to whom, when, in what language, how and why it was revealed: It was revealed in the month of Ramadan (2:185) on the Night of Power or Decree 'Laylat-ul-Qadar' (97:1): We revealed it on a blessed Night.' (44:3)

It was revealed in the Arabic language: 'Surely, We have made it in the Arabic language so that you may be able to understand it.' (43:3)

It was revealed in portions, each of which was written and committed to memory as soon as it was revealed, and its revelation was spread over twenty three years of the Prophet's life, during which time he was occupied solely with the spread of its message.

"It is a Qur'an which We have divided [into parts from time to time] so that you may recite it to the people at intervals; and We have revealed it by stages." (17:106)

    2. The Qur'an is the Highest Form of Revelation:

Although the Gracious Qur'an was revealed piecemeal, the entire revelation is one whole. It is the Word of Allah revealed through the Angel Jibreel AlaihiSalaam. Revelation takes place in three forms: 'It is not fitting for any human being that Allah should speak to him except by revelation, from behind a veil or by sending a messenger that reveals– by His permission– whatever Allah will.' (42:51).
The first of these modes is called wahy, which is used here in its literal sense of al- Isharaarah as-saree'ah, that is to say, a quick suggestion into the mind of man.

The Qur'an is unique. It is inimitable and is protected by Allah from all forms of of corruption. The word Qur'an is a verbal noun which means 'the reading' or 'recitation'.

The Qur'an is Protected by Allah from Corruption:

Previous revelations had been corrupted intentionally, but the Qur'an's final message to the entire humanity is exactly the same in its present form as it was revealed to Prophet Muhammad صلي الله عليه وسلم more than 1400 years ago.

The Divine Scriptures that were revealed before ISLAM lost their original forms overtime; they are either incomplete or not fully accurate. In the case of the Qur'an, however, Allah placed revelations into our Prophet's memory. In addition, after he received each revelation, the Prophet صلي الله عليه وسلم told his numerous companions to write them down, thereby ensuring the Qur'an's preservation in its original textual form. Caliph Abu Bakr (632-634) had the Qur'an compiled into a single copy, and Caliph Uthman (644-656) had copies of it sent to important Islamic cities. The following verses explain how the Prophet of ISLAM صلي الله عليه وسلم tried to remember the revelations, and how Allah helped him do so:

Do not move your tongue trying to hasten it. Its collection and recitation are Our affair. So when We recite it , follow its recitation. Then its explanation is Our concern. (Qur'an, 75:16-19).

As the verses maintain, our Prophet صلي الله عليه وسلم remembered the Qur'an in a unique way, for Allah implanted its verses in his mind. As his companions wrote it all down while he was still alive, in compliance with His promise, each of its letters has remained unaltered since the beginning of its revelation over 1400 years ago. Therefore, Allah's revelation has survived intact to our day.

The Qur'an's lack of any internal contradiction and discrepancy also shows that it is from Allah and is immune to change. The Qur'an is internally consistent and in full agreement with historical developments and scientific discoveries. This attribute is so certain and explicit that our Lord stated:
Will they not ponder the Qur'an? If it had been from other than Allah, they would have found many inconsistencies in it. (Noble Qur'an, 4:82).

All the teachings contained in the former scriptures that were meant to be of lasting value and importance are included in the Qur'an. The Qur'an gives some specific accounts of what the pre-Qur'anic Scriptures contained. The basic message of all the Prophets of Allah, and hence all scriptures they brought , was one and the same message from Allah to people.

Indeed, We have sent forth among every community a messenger with the commandment "Worship Allah Alone and shun all false deities and objects of worship!" (Qur'an, 16:36).

Thus, the Qur'an not only preserves the essential teachings of the previous revelations but also sets out once and for all the eternal truth in its entirety.

I want to say that if you borrow somebody the money you will have 10 savob(gift from Allah to you). if you gift it you'll have only one savob. When you will die you can say "I gift all the money which I lent" in order to have more savob. There's some hadis about it. My grandad knew islam well and did so during the second war. He was the head of farmers in the Sovet Union. All the best for you.

When you are talking about Islam at this present time of the world do you see any Muslim who is following the Islam the way it is mentioned in the Quran. I don’t think so, why because the Islam was hijaked by the hypocrites
So the Islam we have is from those hypocrites . You know how many sects are in Islam, according to the prophet that there will be 73 sects of Islam after his death, and only one will be at the right path, so it is our duty to study deeply and find the right way of following the Islam. It is better to be a true Muslim instead of just Muslim. Thanks

I think everyreligion have same goal i.e. to live a life parallel to God. I am a Hindu and I had study many religion philosophy. I found one thing is common that when a person read any religion in deep then he realise what that religion Sai in real sense. When a person born in any religion they only know their parental religion partially not in deep so he easily diverted to other religion and study that religion very he think that religion is very good and first of all you must read religion in very deep under a highly educated teacher.then choose whose religion you want to adopt.

If Allaah wants to guide someone nobody can misguide him, and if Allaah want to misguide someone no body can guide him, And which people Allaah guides the one who is looking for Truth, guidance, open minded, humble…, and which people Allaah misguide the one who is reject the Truth, the one who is not looking for guidance he is happy with his ignorant life, happy with his manmade religion coz it suits them or coz of their parents, he don't want to know the truth coz if he find the Truth than he have to change and stop certain things he desires to do as they say ''ignorance is bliss'' why should Allaah guide him?

I converted to Islam recently. However, my family is atheist. My family stopped me from being a Muslim. But what can I do? My believes keep going on, I did a lot of research, I tried to be a good one to prove them that my decision isn't wrong at all, I tried many times to convince them, yet they are still extreme about it now. I am now just sneakily being a Muslim, my friends and people at school know. But only my family doesn't know, they said that they don't accept a Muslim member, and if I convert, they will force me to leave Islam.
I'm actually in fear a little right now.

Michael H. Hart of USA who wrote "The 100 most influential persons in history" and placed Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of God be upon him) as number one, on the top of the list

"My choice of Muhammad to lead the best of the world's most influential persons may surprise some readers and may be questioned by others, but he was the only man in history who was supremely successful on both the religious and secular levels.
His complete biography has been authenticated and circulated amongst scholars around the world starting while he was still alive and continuing up until today. One of the first examples we quote from is from the Encyclopedia Britannica, as it confirms:

(Regarding Muhammad) "… a mass of detail in the early sources shows that he was an honest and upright man who had gained the respect and loyalty of others who were likewise honest and upright men." [Vol. 12]
Reverend R. Bosworth-Smith wrote in "Mohammed & Mohammedanism" in 1946:

"Head of the state as well as the Church, he was Caesar and Pope in one; but, he was pope without the pope's claims, and Caesar without the legions of Caesar, without a standing army, without a bodyguard, without a palace, without a fixed revenue. If ever any man had the right to say that he ruled by a Right Divine, it was Mohammad, for he had all the power without instruments and without its support. He cared not for dressing of power. The simplicity of his private life was in keeping with his public life."
    George Bernard Shaw:

"I believe that if a man like him were to assume the dictatorship of the modern world, he would succeed in solving the problems in a way that would bring the much needed peace and happiness. Europe is beginning to be enamored of the creed of Muhammad. In the next century it may go further in recognizing the utility of that creed in solving its problems." (A Collection of writing of some of the eminent scholars, 1935).
    Lamartine's tribute to the Prophet:

"If greatness of purpose, smallness of means and astounding results are the three criteria of human genius, who could claim to compare any great man in modern history with Muhammad?" (Histoire de la Turquie, 1855).

"I wanted to know the best of one who holds today undisputed sway over the hearts of millions of mankind… I became more than convinced that it was not the sword that won a place for Islam in those days in the scheme of life. It was the rigid simplicity, the utter self-effacement of the Prophet, the scrupulous regard for his pledges, his intense devotion to his friends and followers, his intrepidity, his fearlessness, his absolute trust in God and in his own mission. These and not the sword carried everything before them and surmounted every obstacle. When I closed the 2nd volume (of the Prophet's biography), I was sorry there was not more for me to read of the great life."
English author Thomas Carlyle in his 'Heroes and Hero Worship', was simply amazed:

"How one man single handedly, could weld warring tribes and wandering Bedouins into a most powerful and civilized nation in less than two decades."
EWolfgang Goethe, perhaps the greatest European poet ever, wrote about Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him. He said:

"He is a prophet and not a poet and therefore his Quran is to be seen as Divine Law and not as a book of a human being, made for education or entertainment." [Noten und Abhandlungen zum Weststlichen Dvan, WA I, 7, 32]

Muhammad, peace be upon him, was nothing more or less than a human being, but he was a man with a noble mission, which was to unite humanity on the worship of ONE and ONLY ONE GOD and to teach them the way to honest and upright living based on the commands of God. He always described himself as, 'A Servant and Messenger of God' and so indeed every action of his proclaimed to be.
