This guy's incredibly atheist, go listen to more of his songs. Start with "A Rational Response".
    "But carbon dating is flawed"
"Its half life is 5730 years, and that supports our cause"
Now that'd be great if we used it to date
But since we don't then I'm a question that argument's weight
We use potassium argon to date to date the globe
Not carbon 12 or carbon 14 not none of those
So before you attack Grey go get ya facts straight
Because in the facts race, your God comes into last place

I don't know what part of the song you're referring to but he's very very atheist lol. Atheism is a very general term, you can't try and speak for all atheists by saying that it's "impossible" for there to be a god. It's just the belief that there is no god/s.

You've actually got that a bit wrong. Being atheist means the individual lacks belief in any gods… it doesn't say anything about what they do or don't know.

Gnosticism however does say what they know… and I'd gladly admit that as an atheist I don't KNOW there's no god. I just have no reason to think that there are any. ie I'm atheist AND agnostic. They're not mutually exclusive.

Wrong. Agnostic and atheist address different questions. Do you know that there is/isn't a god? If it's yes or no, you are gnostic. If it is "I don't know", regardless of being atheist or Christian, you are agnostic. Do you believe that there is/isn't a god? If yes or no, you are a theist or atheist, respectively. So the chap you replied to would be an agnostic atheist. In your example, an atheist would be a gnostic atheist. All clear now?

Agnosticism means don't know. Ag = don't gnostic = know. As long as there has person who didn't know if a god or gods existed there have been agnostics. 1889 might be when the modern definition came about but agnostics have always been there.

Atheist means literally "without belief". Not in anyway "100% no god". In fact most atheist agree that anything is possible including a god even though most think it's the most unlikely thing in the universe.

Theist means BELIEVER not god. Atheist means not a believer. you can't just make up new definitions to make you point it's ignorant and highly dishonest.

atheist (ˈeɪθɪˌɪst) [Click for IPA pronunciation guide]

    — n
    1. a person who does not believe in God or gods

    — adj
    2. of or relating to atheists or atheism

So yeah, you don't get to make up your own definitions. If Huxley "made it up" why does the Bible comment on atheism. You know that 2000 year old book you haven't read either.

Please avoid absurd generalizations. if you are referring to the christian/abrahamic god the i would say that such a god doesn't exist but there are also many other gods people proclaim to know to exist. Each requires a standard of evidence to determine whether it is justifiable to believe in this specific deity. having a definition provides a point where experiments can be conducted and claims are either supported or dis-proven.

Why is it so difficult for people to understand the definition of the word "atheist", it simply means "not theist", where theism is defined as "belief in one god as creator of the universe, intervening in it and sustaining a personal relation to his creatures". Agnosticism, similarly, is defined as "not gnostic", where gnosticism is defined as "possessing intellectual or esoteric knowledge of spiritual things". It's not that difficult .

It's called Agnostic Atheism. Most Atheists will agree that while anything is possible a god of any kind is extremely unlikely. I don't believe aliens have visited Earth but its possible. I think Bigfoot is a stupid myth but there is the remotest of chances that species may exist. I don't think a teapot circles the sun sun between the orbits of mars and Jupiter at 99.9999999999999999999999999% certainty but I can't say one doesn't for sure (Russel's teapot).

You are in a rare and smaller group known as Gnostic Atheist. It's the inverse of Gnostic Theists who Know for 100% that God does exist. I personally don't like absolutes. The world is never just black or white. Or if you know the Dawkins's scale You would rate a 7 out of 7.

I personally recognize that I am not always right and as a human mistakes are part of who we are as learning beings, as such I won't claim to be infallible.

Not my definition. Theism and Atheism are about belief. They depend on weather you BELIEVE god is real or not. Gnosticism and Agnosticism are based on knowledge. Weather you KNOW god is real or not. Neither is mutually exclusive.

Personally I don't know if there is a god but I don't believe in any god, aka Agnostic Atheism. You claim to know that no god exists and also not to believe a god exists, aka Gnostic Atheism.

Why do you have the rapper bowing his head in the thumbnail for the vid? Was it deliberate?

Wow! I stumbled across your channel as I did a search for Greydon because of my recent realization of being an atheist. As a black woman thank you this interview and bringing up points about black folk being better off without religion and wanting to be attached to something or a group. You’ve just earned a new subscriber. Thank you!
